Howdy! “Man’s best friend” will be joining us at Spirit of Texas Festival, presented by H-E-B Creamy Creations on March 23-25 at College Station’s Wolf Pen Creek Amphitheater and Park!

K9s4COPs will be highlighted as part of the Idea Village. This non-profit helps law enforcement agencies purchase dogs that are trained to track drugs and pin suspects. The organization also offers K9s4KIDs, which provides school district and college campus police with trained dogs to promote safe learning environments free of drugs, explosives and weapons. This worthy charity will receive part of the proceeds from the Spirit of Texas Festival.

As a part of the IDEA Village, K9s4COPs will offer several fun and educational activities. Kids can visit the K9s4KIDs coloring station and then enter their artwork for a chance to win a swag bag from K9s4KIDs. Children also can stop by the gratitude station to write thank you letters to police officers. “K9s4COPs hopes that kids will get a chance to learn more about the police dogs and officers that work as their community helpers, as well as learn the importance of thanking our police officers/first responders, whether K9 or human, for all they do to protect us,” said Kristi Schiller, the founder of K9s4COPs.

Spirit of Texas Festival Executive Director Cynthia Caronna is excited about the organization’s participation in the Idea Village. “Spirit of Texas wants to support K9sforKIDs in providing security at schools because parents and kids deserve to feel safe in a learning environment,” she said. “K9s4COPs and K9s4KIDs are doing an amazing service for communities and are a step in the right direction.”
